These Three Words

I think today, Valentine’s Day, is a day where most people are expecting to hear those magical and majestic “three little words” that will set their heart ablaze with passion, admiration, and only God knows what else. Under most circumstances, rightly so!

Well, today I am going to share with you These Three Words, that if you are trying to create a wildly successful business or excel that, YOU SHOULD NEVER USE!

I have never really been one to beat around the bush, so I will just grab the proverbial stick and take a whack at it!

Here is my brief introduction of These Three Words to follow:

The first word is TRY. I mean, really? Seriously? What are we saying to people when we tell them that we are going to TRY and do something? Have you ever thought about just taking a minute and listened to yourself – not just what you are saying but how you feel when you are saying it? Someone will respect you more if you simply tell them that you are not interested in what they are speaking to about.

You either do something or you don’t do it. Simply put “TRYING” to do something is a cop-out and it let’s you off the hook. Long gone are the days in the business world where you get an “A for Effort”. If you want to really do something. Consider it done and then play your role in the manifestation of said task. Yoda said it best when he said, “DO OR DO NOT. THERE IS NO TRY!”

Which leads me to the next word that really keeps most people in a “Yo-Yo” cycle. I would almost consider this word to be the “Mother of All Mediocrity” is, MAYBE. How can you progress with anything when “Maybe you will” or “Maybe you won’t”, appears to be you mantra and how you go about anything you do?

It is that type INDECISIVENESS that keeps you and your business ventures barely treading water; when what you should be doing is WALKING ON IT!  Listen, do yourself and your business reputation a favor; when a request or a petition is made of you, make a decision after all the relevant information is available. Period.Either you “WILL” do something or “WILL NOT”. Make a decision and govern yourself accordingly.

Remember this, until you move in one direction you won’t put any distance between where you are and where you want and maybe even need to be. If you travel 100 miles in one direction and then back the same 100 miles; guess what? You are worn out and have not progressed, AT ALL! No wonder you want to quit!

Lastly the word, “WHATEVER”! Now parents, I am not talking about the words your kids say back to you when you recommend them why they need to do Algebra, or why they need to clean their room before they get reported to the Health Department. I am talking about an attitude that develops when you are spinning your wheels and you do what you what; instead of what you need.

This is the point where most people quit and become numb to wise counsel. If you have that word in your vocabulary or have developed that attitude; no one is going to be able to help you. This also will have you in a slump faster than a fat man in a Cadillac, downhill, with no brakes.

Make sure that you have accountability partners that can help you and keep you on track so that this mentality never seeps into your atmosphere like a poisonous gas.

I hope you found value in today’s post and I look forward to receiving your comments and connecting with you.

Talk to you soon!
