First of all, for those of you who have read my blog a couple of times, you know that I have this “Weird” spelling hang-up. I like to make up words to spell things that I think should be spelled a certain way to illustrate my points. Today is no different. The “E.D.D.” in the word EDDition that I created (feel free to use if you like), refers in part to “Exploring, Dreaming, and Discovering”.
I think that in order for us to do those 3 things I believe that we have to eliminate, or subtract if you will, aspects of our life and/or environment that hold us down; whether that is emotionally, mentally, spiritually and unfortunately sometimes physically.
Exploring, Dreaming, and Discovering are so important to our success, regardless of what we want to achieve; as I explain here:
Here are some reasons why I believe that sometimes to make any progress in “EDD”, that you have to take certain things away.
EXPLORING YOUR VISION OF SUCCESS: Everyone for the most part, want to be successful. I haven’t met a person yet that said they want to be a mooch or a failure. What is important that we must EXPLORE what that success looks like.
Is is money? Is it stature in the community? Is it just being in a position to bless others? On another note never forget there is always a cost, to be the boss. Are you willing to pay it?
Even though, Success means something different for every person. we must remember that it is a journey and not a destination. We are always gaining but never arriving; because with that success must come the humility that is needed to foster that attitude properly.
DREAMING ABOUT YOUR VISION: Does thoughts of your success keep you up at night, at times? It should. There should be a burning fire fueled by desire to want what you want. Trust me, plenty of “naysaying knuckleheads” or “pessimistic” people are sitting back just waiting to tell you what you can’t do.
They do it mainly because they don’t have the courage or vision to carry out something for their self – so they will try to douce your fire. Some of it is intentional but really some people think that if you never try you will never be hurt. So in their mixed up attempt to help you they are really stiffling and suffocating you.
DISCOVERING WHAT YOU CREATE: I know that might sound a little conflicting, but it is so much better to discover what you are meant to do as opposed to what you are supposed to do. A lot of times we have followed in other people’s footsteps as opposed to blazing a trail of our own.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not suggesting that you should become a “lone wolf”, but make sure that whatever you do make sure that since you are the one who has to live with the outcome, that this is a passion that lives with in you.
I hope you found value in today’s post and I look forward to receiving your comments and connecting with you.
