“EDU-CAUTION!”

It has often been said that we are the sum total of out life’s experiences. I am a firm believer, in that regard.

Sometimes we forget that some of our life’s experiences “happen” because we may get into a situation without careful consideration about how we should have handled ourselves by taking responsibility of things we leave to chance. One thing that I try to instill in my children, whether they like it or not, is the concept of Personal Responsibility.

In doing this, I try to instruct them on how to take care and protect their attitude and mindset from 3 dangerous opponents to their success:
Faithlessness, Laziness, and “Get Over It – Ness”.

Ok. that last one I made up. I use that term because I believe that it is forgiveness, but with a twist. I will explain more later, but I touch on that and a few other things in this video:

Here is what I share with my children, even though I think it can be used with any age, on how to be cautious in the education we receive from life combating these 3 Foes:

Faithlessness: There are countless examples in the Holy Bible that refer to faith. Whether it is the concept of faith, champions of faith or “The Faith” as a whole; nothing even get something into action without faith. I love the idea that you will not find anything that you don’t seek, nor will you seek anything that you don’t believe in.

Laziness: Oddly enough, in this day and age, that we live in technology has become a major factor in how we work, how much work we can do, the time we do it in, and to the other extreme… How we play!

Unfortunately, this also has zapped a much need work ethic for those who don’t know how to use technology to increase productivity – not just activity. We must make sure that we use technology to produce, as opposed to indulge technology in abuse.

“Can’t Get Over It – Ness!”: There is forgiving those who have wronged you and then there is forgiving those that have wronged you and getting over it. A lot of times we think of forgiving is like letting someone off the hook, like forgiving a debt. It is not.

Forgiveness is actually for YOU! It is for you to release a heavy burden and be free of negativity that eats you up and will bring about destruction. Whether that is of your efforts or worse… of you!

I would even recommend putting yourself on a strict media diet. As a matter of fact, let’s play a game or conduct an experiment. Afterwards come back tomorrow and post your results and comments:

Watch a 30-min segment of a news broadcast. Score 1 point for something positive and subtract 1 point for something negative (Even it the same things repeat.) My theory is that there is far more things out there that profess “doom and gloom” and the sky is falling than things that inspire us and give us hope.

The point boys and girls is simple. If you get nothing else on this post please understand that you must be extremely careful what you let yourself become “educated” by and or with.

I hope you enjoy and find it useful to employ, some of the principles I shared with you today.

Hi, Tony
You are a very posititve writer, I love the line, “Be extrmely careful what you let yourself become educated by and or with”. Just like youare what you eat, you will reflect what you know. Your “mental part of self” is all ready complex. To turn around and fill it unneeded information is the worst actions you could do for yourself. Also by not taking advantange of the useful information that you can get at a touch of a button, is a true waste of modern technology.
Thanks again, TTYL

Hi Tony,

Love it! I am a firm believer in having faith to strengthen the paths that we choose. It is hard for some people to draw the line between getting what they expected and getting what they were trying to avoid when they both came from the same source.

Educaution is a great way of opening peoples eyes. I wish you all the best in your path to educate.

Hi Tony,
I love the title and your post delivered on its promise. I keep re-reading the line that says we will not find what we don’t seek, nor seek anything we don’t believe we can get. I know I’m paraphrasing, hope that is ok. Wow! That really made me question why I might start toward a goal and turn back before I achieve it. Maybe I lack belief or maybe I’m not REALLY seeking it. I think there’s a big difference between being committed and simply being interested. And I think sometimes we say we are seeking something because that is the popular attitude. Man! This has really made me think. Thanks for sharing this.
Take care, Allegra
